& Guide for Cleaning
Here, we elaborate on the specifics of cleaning of each location. Regardless of different booking requests, our team at MEIDE.SG has set the basic workflow for cleaners / helpers as a guide to follow.
The guide is especially helpful when owners prefer for cleaners to simply do the work by themselves without instructions or specific requests. Otherwise, as protocol, we place customers’ requests as priority.
A list of the basic workflow for cleaners/helpers is as below:
- Bedsheets changed, washed, and arranged as per homeowner requests.
This task is prioritised first to maintain the clean hygiene of your sleeping area and bedroom! - Wipe down of all surfaces – including tables, cupboard, cabinets and drawers.
- Sweep and mop all floor surfaces and corners. Deep scrubbing, grout and mold removal needs to be specifically requested.
- Scrub kitchen stove and sink. Deep rust and mold removal, and cleansing for plumbing fixtures require specific requests.
- General toilet washing of the shower area, toilet bowl, sink and floor area. These will be scrubbed and wiped down. Deep scrubbing of the walls, tiles, drains, as well as bathtub washing should be indicated if required as these may need more intensive work and special tools.
- Dustbins are all cleared. (Kindly provide the cleaner/helper with your preferred trash bin liners as desired)

What Is Considered Additional Cleaning Services
- Furniture dusting or wiping.
- Exterior of appliances may be degreased, dusted or wiped. Interior of appliances are only cleaned as per owner request/cleaner discretion.
- Laundry can be done – washed (except handwashing), folded and arranged. All ironing needs to be specifically requested.
- Washing dishes – can be done as per owner request and cleaner discretion.
- Windows, ledges and grills washing can be done if time permits. If you specifically require this as a priority, kindly indicate to us too. Our managers would advise on proposed time/manpower.
- Packing and moving – can be done as per owner request and cleaner discretion.
- Any other extra things owner request also within manpower, resource and time capacity.

Details for these Cleaning Add-ons (Eg. Ceiling Fan)
Note that these additional services such as laundry, ironing, moving heavy objects, curtain/blinds, carpet and upholstery cleaning, hand-washing of large amounts of dishes/clothes need to be requested. Extra charges may apply. Cleaning services that are usually not included are: exterior windows/ledges, hand washing, handling of personal items and expensive products (eg. Leather Seats/Sofa, TV, Computers, Fridge, Ovens, Washer/Dryer, etc), aircon, ceiling cleaning including ceiling fans.
WINDOW CLEANING
This section includes cleaning of windows, window ledges, grills, blinds, curtains and similar paraphernalia. Upon request for this addon, our company meide.sg can provide cleaning of the interior aspects of your windows.
However, by default, we are unable to cover the exterior aspects of windows for safety reasons. Helpers are not allowed to climb out or reach out. Although with harness/safety belts it can be done, the costs are often exorbitantly high and not practical. To help solve this problem, we can use this new creative cleaning tool (where available) to help clean your window exteriors!
An exception is when your exterior aspect of window(s) is on ground level, or the area outside the window is a common walking corridor (eg. in older HDB estates). Aside from this exception, any decision for any cleaning of the exterior aspects of window(s) are purely made at absolute discretion between cleaner and owner.
For the cleaning of the interior aspects of windows, kindly ensure the following for safety reasons:
- Please ensure floor is dry and not wet or slippery. This is especially important in kitchen or toilets.
- Please ensure stable stools or safety ladders are available if there is a need to reach the higher aspects of the window(s).
- All windows must be securely closed and locked at all times for safety.

CEILING / CEILING FAN
Upon request, our company meide.sg can facilitate a helper who may be willing to do ceiling cleaning for you!
This can include cleaning of the ceiling fans, lights, bulbs and other interior design or decorations!
To do this, please let us know your ceiling height and the maximum height required for helper to reach. For your benefit, the standard floor-to-ceiling height of is less than or equals to 2.6m in HDBs.
Of note, it would be tougher to complete a match if you require only female cleaners but need extensive windows or ceiling cleaning. This is because most male helpers are physically stronger, and more willing to do such wipe downs.
Based on our experience, majority of male cleaners are more than willing to perform these ceiling cleaning, with the safety precautions here:
- Please ensure floor is dry and not wet or slippery. This is especially important in kitchen or toilets.
- Please ensure stable stools or safety ladders are available to reach the ceiling.
- All nearby windows must be securely closed and locked at all times for safety.
- All electricity and mains should be turned off if there are electric points, appliances, sockets, bulbs, etc close by.

- Clean and polish of interior window areas, grills, ledges and blinds or room shades;
- Note that areas of window/lighting/fixtures out of reach or facing exterior cannot be guaranteed and can only be done via extension stick or ladder (where available), and subject to safety assessment by worker on-the-spot.
- Dust and Wipe Ceiling Fan, Lighting Fixtures and Exterior Surface of Air-Conditioner;
- Cleaning of baseboard (also called skirting board, skirting, wainscoting, mopboard, trim, floor molding, or base molding);
- Dusting and removal of dirt on walls, corners and ceilings.

- Sweep/Vacuum and Mop.
- Wipe down of EMPTIED interior toilet cabinets and drawers;
- Clean and polish of mirror surfaces, glass panels, and windows/ledge/blinds/grills;
- Note that areas of window/lighting/fixtures out of reach or facing exterior cannot be guaranteed and can only be done via extension stick or ladder (where available), and subject to safety assessment by worker on-the-spot.
- Toilet bowl scrubbing and washing;
- Shower area scrub and cleaning;
- Bathtub scrub and clean;
- Toilet walls and floor scrub and wash;
- Clean and polish of toilet taps and sinks;
- Clean and polish of door knobs, bathroom doors and fixtures
Kitchen and Dining Area(s)
- Sweep/Vacuum and Mop.
- Clean and degrease kitchen stove, hob and hood.
- Clean and degrease kitchen backsplash and walls.
- Clean and degrease EMPTIED interior kitchen cabinets.
- Clean and degrease EMTPIED interior kitchen appliances.

How much do we charge for the home services?
Our lowest fees start from only $8 per hour. Our regular weekly home cleaning services are charged on average $22/hour. Our prices are always guaranteed to be the lowest. Try us to get a free quote!
What exactly is MEIDE?
We are an online platform that concentrates currently on bringing home cleaning services and babysitters and nannies to those who need it in Singapore. As of now, we only service locations in Singapore, as well as offshore islands like Sentosa, St. John’s islands, Lazarus, and so on. Of note, our babysitters and some part time helpers can attend to travel trips too and this is called our Overseas Nanny Services. They can also do housework for you!

Are you under the Household Services Scheme in Singapore?
Yes, we are listed and officially providing services under HSS. We have been doing this for years, and thus are specialists in the residential cleaning for regular clients. Some take up our cleaning sessions once a fortnight, some take it weekly (the most popular!), and some several times throughout the week.
Are your workers legal, properly trained, and insured?
Yes, you can rest assured that all of them have undergone a rigorous selection process as well as in-person training. On top of that, we conduct regular checks and frequent upskilling to ensure our cleaners are top-notch in quality. We also have full workplace insurance and medical insurance coverage for all our HSS cleaners. All of them hold proper permits from the Singapore Government.
For home cleaning, do I need to provide the cleaning tools?
Unlike others, we do NOT require you to provide your own cleaning tools. We have many types of cleaning tools sets available, depending on your type of cleaning session booked.
For general maintenance or weekly home cleaning, we can actually arrange our standard set of cleaning equipment, which are all brand-new, and deliver them to your residence. You can keep the tools and supplies for your future usage. Whenever it needs topping up, let us know and we will get it done for you. Less hassle, and more relaxation for our homeowners!
For deep cleaning, like post-tenancy cleaning, or specialized cleaning, our dedicated cleaning crew will bring their own tool sets. These cleaning tools often have special functions, such as the steam extraction machine, industrial-grade wet and dry vacuum, ladders, and so on. The team will arrive with the tools and leave with them. You can just rest on your couch, meanwhile!
Lastly, if you’d like to save money on the home cleaning, you CAN also provide your own tools. We encourage this for the regular and general weekly cleaning bookings. However, we do not encourage this for deep and special cleaning requests.
Many of our regular customers engaging weekly residential cleaning services get our helpers to use their own home tools. This way, you save on the cleaning tools fee, and only pay for the cleaner at $22 per hour!
Can I get both cleaning and babysitting services?
Yes, of course you can! We have had clients who require regular cleaners cleaning their house on the weekends, and also engage babysitters to help bring kids to school and take care of them after school. Our helpers can also handle some cooking, ironing and laundry for you.
